Underneath the key caps, you will find LED lights that deliver multi-color lighting when you download the RGB Rapid Fire Keyboard software. With this software, you can customize the keyboard’s lighting effect to your liking.
These mechanical keyboard keys sound nice and perform great. This gaming keyboard even comes with a detachable soft-touch wrist rest and dedicated multimedia controls. This X Chroma Mechanically engineered keyboard is build with extremely light weight military metal with features like 80 million keystrokes, anti-ghosting and on the fly macro recording. In addition, the Chroma has a very sturdy feeling with a nice black gloss finish. The illuminated Razer logo is still visible on the bottom of the keyboard which is still very distinctive from Razer.
To prevent scratching you will notice that there are two elevated feet stands and 5 little rubber patches. There is even a cable channel to run the keyboard’s cable through so your workstation won’t look so cluttered.
While most gamers really on macro keys for recording and editing it can be done through the software where you’ll be able to program your own macro keys directly from your flat screen monitor.
When buying the Razor Blackwidow X Chroma you will notice a big difference in the brightness of the LED switches, that’s because these LED lights are installed not underneath the key switches but on top which will ultimately have a brighter LED light. With a 50g actuation point, these mechanical switches don’t need much force to actuate. The downside of this backlit mechanical gaming keyboard which shouldn’t be a major factor is the cable channel which is a bit too narrow for the braided cable itself, which causes small rips on the cable when using it for a few days.
